1. Who are you? How did you start?

My name is Lenka Buchcárová. I have started to skate in 2000 in London and in 2003 in Paris. The skating disciplines I began to practice were slalom and roller dance. In 2003 I`ve started with competitions and judging.

2. What is your today way of skating? Which sports & where?

From 2005 I am the representant of freestyle skating in Czech Republic, mainly in Olomouc, where I live now. The disciplines are still new so I do a lot of shows in order to present them and I am also a roller skating instructor.

3. You have been involved into skating as fan, as competitor, as judge, as
instructor, as show performer … is that true?

Yes, indeed. I’ve started as a fan of skating when I saw someone do some freestyle tricks in Hyde Park (London). Today I don`t really do competitions but I`m working to develop of the sport in my country and I like it better this way because I help others to find all that freestyle skating can offer and bring exactly how I found it.

4. Currently committing into the development of these sports, could you
describe your projects, your achievements & your hopes?

The biggest step for the development was the moment when the first freestyle club is born :”Freestyle skating club” where I found skaters excited and ambitious. With the club we would like to create conditions which would push this sport even more in the country and reach the level that is abroad.

5. Any date, any event where skaters can join?

In this moment, our club is preparing a competition of freestyle skating, the 28.8.2010 which is going to be the first official competition at a national degree.

Besides, every bigger town has their own little competition during the season. As a national club we are trying to find and get together all the skaters at a regional degree and thus to develop the units of organization in every bigger town.

History of freestyle skating in Czech Republic

Roller skating in general is developed more than freestyle skating in Czech Republic. Czech people like the most these disciplines: fitness skating, aggressive skating and speed skating.

The number of skaters is growing rapidly in the past years and people find skating as an effective sport to remain in shape, especially in summer when it’s nice and sunny and the roads are not being covered by snow, stones or leaves from trees.

A lot of fitness skaters began to fill slowly the pavements and parks. Apart from fitness skating, there is also aggressive or speed skating that is very well known in our country. Speaking about the competitions, they are being organized at a national and international level. We also have the teams that compete at the 24 marathon in Le Mans in France. The champion of the Olympics games 2010 is Martina Sablikova in ice speed skating.

Since 2005 we consider the beginning of the development of the freestyle skating in Czech Republic. All begins when Lenka Buchcarova did the first steps. With all her knowledge of freestyle skating learnt in France, she had all to start representing this sport in Czech Republic. She began with the promotion by writing articles about the sport and by contacting roller associations on the internet, but also she did lot of shows in freestyle skating in different occasions. This was a great start in order to introduce people the news in skating. From this time people started to search the information on the internet, watch the videos, and started to train them.

By making the shows of slalom and roller dance, Lenka met a lot of important people who helped her push this sport to another level, especially Agency of sports from Opava. They were at a time the only organization of stages of skating and had the privilege to present their team of policemen on skates. The police had the occasion in 2005 to participate at the street skate and decided to become the team of police on skates since then.

This sportive agency is composed of fully qualified instructors and every member of the police manages the skates perfectly. The other towns found the inspiration in this agency.

This new sport became more interesting for people every year and Lene noticed more demands for her exhibitions.

Since 2006, Lenka cooperates with this team and give courses as a VIP instructor for freestyle skating. These skating courses became very efficient for the development of the freestyle skating because every participant gets a license which makes him legible to teach other people. With this agency Lene also cooperated in a publication of a skating book: “How to learn to skate – Jiří Reichert, Jan Krejčíř „.

Little by little, skaters start to practice on their own in summer. The freestyle skaters very motivated are fighting to get covered places to train in winters. The biggest number of skaters who are fans for freestyle skating is based in these towns: Prague, Olomouc, Brno, Bratislava (in Slovakia) and where the little towns find the inspiration.

Since 2006, some skaters from Prague organize every year a little competition non official of freestyle slalom in big park “Summer scene”. The level of the skaters is better every year.

Lene continued with the shows of freestyle in Czech republic. She had 16 shows in the country in 2009. She also was interviewed by these magazines: Skate magazine “MagazIn-line”, Sports magazine “PULS”, Newspaper Mlada Boleslav “Boleslavan”, Evening newspaper “Večerník”, Magazine of Olomouc “Radničné listy”.

Czech freestyle skating club

In 2009 Lenka continues with the development by creating the first freestyle skating club with name: « Freestyle skating klub, o.s. » The club is a team of enthusiasts from the whole republic who love the freestyle skating with its disciplines: slalom, roller dance, slides, freeride, streetskates.

The aim of the club is to develop these disciplines. The club is very motivated and tries to follow its examples. The main aim is to present freestyle skating in Czech republic and to increase its level to the international standard.

The activity of the club is based on making trainings as a group, shows and competitions and to do all these in a spirit of a sport, health and as a sport for all ages and sex.

Objectives of the club:

-       Organization of national and internationals competitions officially (Cups, Czech Championship)

-       Registration with the Czech federation of skating

-       Creating other sections for disciplines: jump, speed, downhill

History of the club

In 2009, three founders of a club (L.Buchcarova, Z. Zezula, J.Tuma) met at a national course of freestyle skating which was organized by club in Brno “Black ice” and decided to find freestyle skaters that already are in Czech republic. Here the idea was born. In order to regroup all the skaters in the country the founders registered the first freestyle skating club at the Home office with the name: “Freestyle skating klub, o.s.” The registration is confirmed in Prague, 31.3.2009 with national identification number: 26563479. Since then, the club registered about 50 members. But because of changing of the status of the club as well as introducing the registration fees, the number has gone down. In 2010 the club has about 30 members in the entire republic with 4 units organizational: Olomouc, Přerov, Zlín, Brno

Wheat is known to increase insulin sensitivity. Diabetics should avoid it. Omegas increase insulin sensitivity, diabetics need to make sure they are getting enough.

Sugar has to go. “All natural” sweeteneres aren’t always a good answer- maple syrup and honey still spike insulin. Raw agave, xylitol, and stevia better options.

People get diabetic by making poor choices. (And I say this as a person currently beating a LENGTHY genetic history of diabetes)- once you’ve got it, you have to take it seriously and quit making decisions that compromise your health.

I have just purchased the 2 books and the dvd and I am trying to figure out how I can fix all this food for work or if there is an easy way to buy ready made MANDI foods. I start at 6am and I don’t have time in the morning for any food prep. ( Guess I’ll have to make some foods and freeze them)
If someone has some tips about simplifying the system, I woud really appreciate them.
